OFFICE ROLE SWAP - A playful theatre-based team experience

The Role Swap Day is a performative, theatre-based experience for teams that turns everyday work structures into a playful field of exploration. Participants step out of their usual roles and into the roles of their colleagues — not only functionally, but also through mindset, behavior, and simple performative actions. Work becomes temporarily a stage for experimentation, curiosity, and perspective shift.

The workshop is designed to create:

• deeper understanding between roles in an organization

• stronger empathy across departments

• improved communication through lived experience

• playful disruption of habitual work patterns

• new insights into collaboration and workflow structures

Instead of explaining how others work, participants embody it.

Each person temporarily:

• takes over another role in the team

• adopts its perspective and working logic

• explores how decisions, pressure, and communication feel from that position

  
  

The focus is not accuracy, but experience and perspective shift.

Methodology

The workshop combines:

• theatre & improvisation techniques

• role-play and embodiment practices

• collaborative group dynamics

• experiential learning

• light performative framing of real work situations

Optional elements:

• symbolic costume or role markers

• short improvised workplace scenes

• voice and body exercises
